Frequently Asked Questions

What is the meaning of F1, F1b, F2, F2b and F3 Doodles?

Crossbred dogs and designer dogs are often referred to as F1, F2, F1b, F2b or F3.  It is the accepted description which is used to distinguish hybrid dog breeds between the different generations.

  • F1 Generation Doodles (50/50 Cross) are the result of breeding two purebred dogs. Half of each dog is the mother’s breed, and the other half is the father’s breed.

    • Example - a F1 Aussiedoodle is the result of a pup whose mother is a purebred Australian Shepherd and the father is a purebred Poodle.

  • F1b Generation Doodles (75/25 Cross) are the result of breeding a F1 parent and a P (purebred) generation parent. This is used to intensify traits found in the P parent’s breed.

    • Example - a F1b Bernedoodle is the result of a pup whose mother is a Bernedoodle and the father is a Poodle.

  • F2 Generation Doodles (50/50 Cross) are the result of breeding an F1 Doodle to a F1 Doodle.

    • Example - a F2 Cockapoo is the result of a pup whose mother is a Cockapoo and the father is a Cockapoo.

  • F2b Generation Doodles (75/25 Cross) are the result of an F1 Doodle parent and an F1B Doodle parent.

    • Example:  a F1 Aussiedoodle bred to a F1B Aussiedoodle would make an F2B Aussiedoodle.

  • F3 Multigenerational Doodles (Cross % dependent on parentage) are the result of breeding a F1B or higher generation parent to a F1B or higher generation parent.

    • Example -  An F2B Bernedoodle bred to a F1B Bernedoodle would make a F3/Multi-Gen Bernedoodle.

Did the parents have any health and genetic tests done?

  • All of our breeding parents have been health tested and are chosen for our breeding program based on their superior temperament and personality.  Please see our parent page for the individual test results on our sires and dams.

What vaccines does the puppy already have?

  • Our puppies receive their Wellness Exam and first immunization shots at eight weeks from our vet.  They must have an immunization booster be administered at 12 weeks and again at 16 weeks. We feed our puppies the very best food and give them the correct health treatments to insure they go to their new homes healthy and ready to thrive.

Was the puppy dewormed?

  • We deworm our puppies when they are six weeks, and again as part of their 8 week old Wellness Exam. All puppies get worms and ours are no exception. The worms come right through the mother’s milk and puppies must be treated by deworming.

What size will the puppy be when it is an adult?

  • Our Standard Bernedoodles are generally 50-60 pounds when they are grown.

  • Our Mini Aussiedoodles are generally 20-30 pounds when they are grown.

How do I make a puppy deposit?

  • In order to make a deposit on a pup we require that you first fill out a Puppy Application on our Puppy Application & Deposit Page. Puppy Deposits are $300 and are included in the final purchase price of your pup. Once we have reviewed your application we will contact you with instructions for your deposit.

Once I have made a puppy deposit, how do I pick my puppy?

  • After your puppy application is approved and your puppy deposit is made, your name is added to our “Puppy Wait List” located on our Upcoming Litters Page. We post pictures of each individual pup when they are two weeks old and update the photos every 2-3 weeks. Each pup will be priced according to breed and coloring. We require all puppy buyers to choose their pup by the time they are six weeks old.  We update our website in real time as each pup is chosen from their litter and show which pups are still available.  Each pup is offered on a first come first served basis. You can make your puppy choice in person, via FaceTime/Google Duo or from the pictures posted on our website. You must notify us of your pick by email, so we have a confirmed and accurate record of each puppy’s adopted home.
